The year 2 Health Sciences class at DeSoto County Career and Technology Center East will be participating in the Mississippi Department of Health Kindergarten Hand Washing Campaign. This is a wonderful program that puts our high school students in charge of teaching a class of kindergarten students the importance of hand washing. They will be leading a lesson in hand washing, demonstrating proper hand washing procedure, and teaching how hand washing can help them avoid illness. We will be partnering with Ms. Wendy Hayes’s Olive Branch Elementary class for this project. Our health sciences class will travel to OBES 4 times during the month of October to complete this project. They have been working very hard to prepare their lessons and are very excited about the opportunity to share their knowledge with the kindergarten students. We are looking forward to this experience and are hopefully that we can expand it to more classes in the future.
